Upper Noe Gardening Group held its first Community Gardening Day on February 21, adding over 60 flowering plants along the Sanchez Street sidewalk. The next Gardening Day targets the Native Pant Garden inside the park along Sanchez Street near Day on March 21 from 10 a.m. to noon. Neighbors of all ages and skill are invited to come and learn about, care for, and plant California natives. Come when you can; stay as long as you like. Spring Session runs March 17 through May 30. General Registration opens March 7th at 10 a.m. Karate, Wrestling, Coed Boxing, and Women’s Boxing Fundamentals return along with your standard favorites.
Summer Day Camp General Registration opens March 21st at 10 a.m. Upper Noe will host nine one-week sessions from 9am to 3pm on weekdays between June 8 and August 14. Girls Play Sports Camp for 5 to 12 year-olds is all about confidence, teamwork and nonstop action as girls explore a wide variety of sports and activities (including basketball, volleyball, tennis, pickleball, softball, floor hockey, dance, yoga, and tumbling) in a positive, non-competitive environment. Each week features a field trip day for extra adventure, and a nutrition and cooking segment where campers learn how to fuel their bodies for success. Upper Noe Sports Camp for 9 to 14 year-olds provides a dynamic, engaging and supportive environment where campers participate in two different sports (including volleyball, tennis, basketball, flag football, kickball, dodgeball, soccer, capture the flag, and hunters and gatherers) each day for a well-rounded, athletic experience that promotes physical developments and teaches valuable life skills like teamwork and sportspersonship.
