June 17 2022
Dear Friends,
Summer is full of activity at Upper Noe Rec Center and we hope to see you there. We recently had the floors polished and made significant improvements to the field and dog park in expectation of your family’s visit. The building is open on Mondays (except this Monday) through the summer and scheduled with Open Gym to provide more self-directed play.
See www.uppernoerecreationcenter.com for the full schedule of activities. Call the Upper Noe office at 415 970-8061 for more info and updates.
Concerts in the Park – Saturday June 18, this free, family-friendly live music series features award-winning singer and guitarist Chance McCauley in Upper Noe playground from 10 to noon. Enjoy free concerts on the first and third Saturdays of each month through October.
Juneteenth Holiday Closure – Monday, June 20. The building will be closed but the park will be open all day.
New FREE Summer Courses:
Healing Yoga – Build your knowledge and skill; learn fundamental poses to increase your flexibility, enhance muscle tone, and improve coordination.
International Folk Dance – Learn Folk Dances from around the world. Dance helps maintain balance and brain health. Beginners and Seniors are encouraged to participate.
Upper Noe Block Party 2022 – Saturday, September 24 from 11 to 3 at Upper Noe Rec Center. Live music and family fun. If you are interested in helping or tabling, please contact info@uppernoeneighbors.com. Neighborhood and citywide organizations are encouraged to participate.
Sidewalk Chalk – Drawing is fun but please limit chalk play to the sidewalks. It should not be used on the courts, walls or equipment. It does not rain in the summer, so chalk lingers, mimics graffiti and is a maintenance issue. Thank you for understanding.
Joby’s Run Dog Park – is now closed for scheduled maintenance every Thursday from 10 to noon. We are thrilled that Park staff is now providing weekly maintenance. They have already made significant safety repairs. Contact info@fundogsf.org to make suggestions for maintenance or improvements.
Friends of Upper Noe Recreation Center is your park stewardship committee. Please email info@uppernoerecreationcenter.com to find out how you can participate.
Get out and play!
