UPPER NOE REC CENTER HISTORY – The September Noe Valley Voice features an in-depth history of Upper Noe Recreation Center. The story documents the community’s demand for a park in the mid-1920s, the long start-and-stop process of clearing the block of houses beginning in the early 30s, construction and opening in the late 50s, renovation a dozen years ago and where we are today. Read it at http://www.noevalleyvoice.com/2019/September/index.html .
FALL RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS – continue through December 20. For many classes, the second session begins in October. Sign up now.
NEW PILATES CLASS – All Levels Mat Class.
Wednesdays, Oct 30 – Dec 11 from 5:30 – 6:30PM
Instructor: Julia Griffiths
Register Online, Course Number: 23620 ($36)
JR. WARRIORS BASKETBALL – co-ed individual registration begins October 10 at 10 a.m. Games start November 11.
AUDIO UPGRADE FOR THE AUDITORIUM – Friends has initiated a project to enhance the acoustics of the auditorium and improve the listening experience during classes, community meetings and performances. Some acoustic dampening will eliminate much of the reflective sound that interferes with and garbles speakers’ voices. A flexible permanent PA system is envisioned with multiple speakers around the room and a connection interface to make it quick and easy for instructors and presenters to quickly plug in phones, microphones, projectors, etc.
CONCERTS IN THE PARK – first and third Saturdays through October from 10 to noon.
Whether you bring the kids along or not, come on out and enjoy great tunes.
10/5 – Brendan Getzell
10/19 – Will Georgantas
