May 15, 2025
Dear Friends,
We want to let you know of important dates and activity, and share some good news and bad news. The bad news is that the children’s playground at Upper Noe Rec Center will be closed from June 2 through 27, and possibly longer, for surface replacement. The good news is that all of our advocacy efforts have been successful in getting this long-awaited and critically necessary work. Thanks go out to all of you who made calls to 311, sent email, talked to neighbors and helped maintain the pressure to make this happen. Please seek alternative playgrounds nearby and bear with park staff as they strive to maintain a safe and pleasant environment during construction. The new surface will be Tot Turf (artificial grass) with the current rubbery material replaced at high use areas under slides, swings and other equipment.
Summer Registration opens on Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m.
