EVERYBODY IS WELCOME AT UPPER NOE NEIGHBORFEST

So, come celebrate Good Neighbor Week with us at Upper Noe Rec Center on Saturday, September 26 from 11 to 2. The Adrian West Band, a big hit at UN Block Party 2024, return to provide upbeat tunes to delight everyone. MoBu Dance Studio performs at 11:45. Esteemed civic leaders will be there too. Rec & Park will have special activities like safe & fun archery, volleyball and games for all ages, while kids can also enjoy arts & crafts with Aventura, face painting by Amanda, and fun activities in the KidsZone. Free refreshments include popcorn, lemonade, pizza, La Copa Loca Gelato, Delights by Lisa cupcakes, and more.

Dozens of local merchants, schools, organizations and institutions will have booths with info, activities and treats. Reserve a free table for yours!

Sept 12 – Gardening Work Day from 10 am to noon
These are help quarterly on a Saturday morning.
Help beautify the gardens in and around the park. RSVP is appreciated but drop-ins are appreciated too.
Tools and gloves are provided. Family Friendly. No experience necessary. Meet on the Sanchez St side of Upper Noe Rec Center. more info

One City Day
July 11, 2026
A city-wide volunteer day. Neighborhood volunteers cleaned and weeded the tree wells in the sidewalks around Upper Noe Rec Center. DPW then filled them with decomposed granite to make them even with the sidewalks for safety and beauty. more info

Upper Noe Rec Center Garden Tour 2026 – May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Come experience wild California with a walk through our Native Plant Garden. Learn more about resilient gardens. Build a birdhouse and nosh on treats. All FREE. more info

Upper Noe Block Party 2025 – Sept 27
This event at Upper Noe Rec Center was wildly successful with about 450 people showing up to fill the courts and field with activity. Local schools, organizations, volunteer groups, and businesses joined in the fun at this admission-free party featuring a DJ and live music by Sven and the Masterful Orchestra, dance performance by MoBu Dance Studio, demonstrations, treats, and arts & crafts, face painting, and other children’s activities. Rec & Park hosted and brought family-friendly versions of archery, tennis, volleyball, soccer, pickleball and more fun games for all ages. Concerts in the Park 2024
This is a free live music series in the playground every other Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon throughout the summer. Hear sweet harmonies and laid back tunes as you watch over your tots at play. Little ones will like the family-friendly music and be captivated by the performers, but do not expect to hear “Wheels on the Bus” or other children’s tunes. These performers are here to enhance your day not to distract from play.

Upper Noe Block Party 2022 – Sept 24
Over 400 neighbors gather with local schools, organizations, volunteer groups, businesses and more for an admission-free party featuring live music by Lunarville, dance, demonstrations, food, children’s activities and activities for all ages. This was a fun-filled day that strengthened community connections.
Thank you to everyone for showing up and being the life of the party. A special thanks to those who staffed a table at the event and or provided the support necessary to make it happen. See photos

Upper Noe Block Party 2019 – Sept 28
was great fun and a resounding success. Hundreds of neighbors came together with Upper Noe merchants, schools, associations, city agencies and esteemed public officials for an afternoon of fun activities, music and treats. See photos

Ten Together – Upper Noe Block Party (Sept 15, 2018)
Winner of the 11th Annual Neighborhood Empowerment Network Award for Extraordinary Neighborhood Block Party, the best in San Francisco for 2018. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

We have hosted Movie Nights, an Ice Cream ‘n Swing Dance, History Day, Halloween Carnival, an Easter Egg Hunt, the Concert in the Park music series, fund raisers for schools, and so much more.

In 2013, we hosted a huge community party, dubbed Cinco de Noe, to celebrate the five year anniversary of the re-opening of the Rec Center.

We are grateful to all of our local merchants who have contributed so generously to support these events and Upper Noe Rec Center.

All events are hosted by Friends of Upper Noe Recreation Center and SF Recreation and Parks Department. Events must be free and open to the public. Contribution are possible through raffles and donations.
