We hope that you have had a fun summer. The kids attending Summer Day Camp at Upper Noe Rec sure have! It’s been a blessing to be able to offer this activity once again. But even with Camp ending on Friday and kids back to school.again on Monday, that doesn’t mean the fun ends. This fall, Upper Noe is offering a wide variety of activities: Girls’ Flag Football, co-ed League Flag Football, girl’s Volleyball League and Basketball Tournament, Futsal, Tennis, Wrestling, Karate, and all of the usual favorites for adults. Get out and play!

Upper Noe NeighborFest – September 26
This is the annual party that has drawn hubdreds to the park for a day of music, fun activities, treats and camaraderie. It’s been rebranded from Block Party to NeighborFest to highlight that it is by and for the entire community. Come on out, meet your neighbors, learn about our neighborhood and have some fun. And if you can help make this a spectacular day, volunteers are appreciated.

Gardening Work Day September 12 – from 10 am to noon
Help beautify the gardens in and around the park. RSVP is appreciated but drop-ins are appreciated too.

Park Updates
One City Day on July 11 saw more than a dozen neighbors pitching in to clean up all of the tree wells surrounding Upper Noe Rec Center. The Dept of Public Works followed up days later and filled them all with gravel. Now they look good and are no longer a tripping hazard. Kudos to all of you who helped make this project and over 100 other volunteer projects happen across the entire city.
Dog Run Decking Replaced – Rec & Park is rebuilding the decking along the Day Street entrance to Joby’s Run dog park. The old deck had been sinking and unsafe for years. We are thrilled to finally see this work happening. Please use the 30th Street entrance for the next couple of weeks.
